BOB Governance Introduction

Welcome to the BOB Governance Discussion Forum

This forum is the central hub for BOB governance discussions, including BOB Acceleration Proposals (BAPs) and other governance matters.

BOB’s approach to governance is deliberately practical. The goal isn’t to build a complicated decision-making process – it’s to help steward the protocol efficiently while staying product and revenue oriented. BOB Governance is a mechanism to align key actors like builders, researchers, tokenholders, and delegates, who bring perspectives from different regions, user groups, and use cases. Their role is to represent those interests and surface sharp input that helps BOB build better products, iterate faster, and ship faster.

Whether you’re a builder, a researcher, a tokenholder, or just getting started – your voice matters here. The best DAOs are shaped by people who show up, engage, and push ideas forward.

While official BAPs and voting take place at gov.gobob.xyz, this forum serves as the space for community discussion and feedback before BAPs go to vote.

BOB token holders can either vote directly or delegate their voting power to delegates, who serve as the stewards of the BOB DAO and vote on BAPs on behalf of token holders.

Key Summary of BOB Governance

  • The BOB DAO exists to accelerate the creation of core financial products on Bitcoin – a full-stack, Bitcoin-native banking infrastructure for spending, saving, earning, and borrowing, all built on Bitcoin rails.

  • The DAO’s mission is to make Bitcoin the foundation of a new global financial system – one where trust is built into the protocol, not manufactured through layers of intermediaries. Through collective decision-making, strategic resource allocation, and active ecosystem participation, the DAO governs, funds, and supports the projects and products that bring this vision to life. The full BOB DAO charter can be found here.

  • The official BOB governance tools are:

    • Community Forum: This Discourse space for discussing BAPs, sharing ideas, and gathering feedback.
    • Voting Platform: Tokenholders vote on BAPs via gov.gobob.xyz. All BOB token holders can vote directly or by delegating their voting power, either to themselves or to registered Delegates. Delegate your tokens here.
  • Governance will evolve with the community. The structure, roles, and processes may adapt over time to reflect community needs and priorities. Changes will be introduced as necessary, ensuring governance remains flexible, responsive, and aligned with community interests.
